Contact the Clinic

Is treatment covered by the provincial health insurance plan?

Yes. If the patient is currently living in Ontario and is referred to the clinic by an Ontario physician, the cost is covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan.

What if they are not a resident of Ontario?

Patients living in Canada but outside of Ontario are covered by their provincial health plan for visits to see our physicians, with the exception of patients from Quebec. Patients from Quebec will have their costs partially covered by the Quebec health plan, but must arrange for the remainder of the cost to be covered by private insurance. We can discuss this with you when you book their first appointment. Patients are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.

What if they are not a resident of Canada?

We can treat patients with the following legal statuses: citizen, immigrant, refugee, and international student with UHIP coverage. At this time we do not offer treatment to patients from outside Canada. For information on a pain clinic in your area, please call the World Cervicogenic Headache Society at 712-252-4386.

How do they get an appointment for treatment?

The patient may download and print a copy of our referral form. They must present this form to their family doctor who may fill in the form and fax it to the clinic. Once we receive the form we will contact the patient directly.

How long do they have to wait for the first appointment?

To receive and process the paperwork for a referral takes about one week. We are a very busy clinic and there is always a waiting period. There are many factors which influence the wait time including patient load and number of doctors currently on staff and available to perform treatments. If you call the clinic they can give you an estimate of the waiting period based upon current conditions. We also list our current wait time on the front page of our website.
